General Information on Work Entry Types

Work entry types are used in work entries, and each entry is assigned to a specific entry type. The most common entry type is Hourly Work.

Management and Actions

  1. Navigate to Entry Types:
  • Go to Work Entries > Work Entry Types.
  1. Search Criteria:
  • You can use search criteria to find different entry types.
  1. Add, Edit and Delete:
  • Add: Create a new entry type.
  • Edit: Modify an existing entry type.
  • Delete: Remove an entry type (note that entry types are not permanently deleted from the database; they can be marked as deleted).

Entry Type Fields

  • Description: A free-form description of the entry type, shown when recording entries and when invoicing.
  • Unit: The unit of measurement for the entry type.
  • Group: Groups entries in reports, such as Hourly Wages, Mileage Allowances, Per Diems.
  • Pay type number: Numbering used in payroll.
  • Included in payroll?: Whether the entry appears in payroll.
  • Visible in entry invoicing?: Whether the entry appears when invoicing work/entries.
  • Affects flexitime balance?: Whether the entry affects the flexitime hour balance (available in the Project Management feature included in the Super product).
  • Tax-exempt?: Whether the entry is tax-exempt in payroll (e.g. per diems, mileage allowances).
  • Unit price: The unit price used in payroll, which you can edit during a payroll run.
  • Pay type: The pay type of the entry in payroll.
  • Deleted?: Marks the entry type as deleted; does not permanently remove it from the database.
